About this walking route
Montmartre, also called the artists' quarter of Paris, was formerly a village outside Paris but has been added to the city as a district since 1860. During the self-guided audio tour through the city, you will see that Montmartre has retained its village character. You will walk along picturesque squares, spot the whitewashed houses and stroll through narrow but convivial streets. Moreover, during this city walk you will also pass impressive places such as the famous Moulin Rouge, the painter's square Place du Tertre, the Sacré-Coeur and Statue Saint-Denis. You can also imagine yourself in the movie "Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amélie Poulain" at the grocery store and who knows, you might even fall in love at the love wall with "I love you" written in no less than 250 languages.
